Field day on “Seed production of Toria” under CFLD Oilseeds.
KVK, West Garo Hills organised a field day programme on seed production of Toria (variety TS-36) at Angalgre village of West Garo district, Meghalaya on 29th of January, 2018 under CFLD on oilseeds (NFSM). A total number of 21 farmers have participated in the programme. The programme was organised with the aimed to popularize the improved variety of Toria (TS-36) among the farmers of the village and neighbouring areas. The farmers were interacted with the KVK technical staffs and explained them regarding the importance of seed production and utilization of residual moisture in rice-fallow areas of the district. The experts urged the farmers to compare the difference of percentage in increase in yield and profitability of the crop with the local cultivars so that they are convinced with the cultivar for further more expansion of area under oilseed crops.
